"My 8-year-old son Micah has autism. The journey to receive his diagnosis was a long process, beginning with seizures, an ADHD diagnosis, and many tests and evaluations. Micah’s autism diagnosis came later in his childhood, but I have found that with the right supports, progress can be made at any age. Now that he is receiving the help he needs in school, Micah’s skills have expanded. He is excelling in writing and reading..
Our family lives in Wisconsin but we will be attending the Fraser Walk for Autism to become more involved in the autism community. I especially want to connect with and support other parents and families affected by autism. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and hope to make a career out of helping families with special needs."
