As a quality childcare center, we strive to maintain child-to-staff ratio of 3:1 ratio for infants, based upon criteria set forth by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation.
Our infant curriculum is centered around each child’s established daily routine, including their interactions with the environment, friends and caregivers, and play. Upon enrollment, parents/guardians are asked to share their child’s daily routine with staff. We build each child’s daily schedule, based on their routine.
Sometimes, children are ready to transition from the infant room to a toddler group before they are 16 months.
Signs that a child may be ready to transition include the following:
Staff in both the infant and toddler group will evaluate a child they believe may be ready to transition, and the family will be asked to provide input. When there is agreement, the child transitions to the Bees Transition Class.
Group size for Busy Bees is similar to the infant program, typically having 8 children with 2 staff. When more than 8 children are in the transition group, an additional staff person is added.
